Reviews of Blitz incubators (48\72\120)
Comments 2014.11.07
Blitz brand incubators are produced by a private entrepreneur in the city of Orenburg. In general, these are good incubators, but not without their shortcomings. Although, let’s be honest, they are better than other domestic “foam” counterparts. There are both good and bad reviews of Blitz incubators. However, read the original reviews:
I purchased a BLITZ-48 from you. A breakdown occurred during the work. I had to send it to Orenburg for repairs. Of course, I was a little upset. One thing reassured me that it was under warranty. I prepared for a long wait for repairs. And lo and behold. I returned from repairs in just 3 weeks, round trip travel and time for the repair itself. I live in the Volgograd region. Now it works better than a Swiss watch for me. My family has joy, across the board. But they also returned the money for shipping to Orenburg. This is in our country of thieves. Still, not everyone has degenerated yet. There are still honest and decent people left. Low bow to you and God bless you.
Good day! Your second incubator coped well with its assigned responsibilities. I used it for pre-incubation of peacocks and mountain partridges (since I only deal with ornamental birds). Everything turned out great! No comments. We can say that Blitz-48 can be trusted with a valuable bird; my trust in it is equal to the trust in the Korean King Suro. Overall, it's worth the money! Thank you.
“Whoever is lucky here :)) My Blitz 48 has already made 10 conclusions normally, but my neighbor’s (who bought it on my recommendation) broke down and now I’m fussing with repairs / exchanges / spare parts...”
“Again I’m with my temperature jumping. In general, they connected it to the battery and brought it into the room (it used to be in the corridor) and oh happiness!!!! The incubator keeps the temperature even!”
“Hello, dear forum members! Last year we purchased a Blitz-120 incubator. Loaded eggs 2 times. After this, do not use for six months. Today we tried to download it and turn it on. It turned out that the egg turning mechanism did not work. The service center offered to take it to Orenburg. This is too difficult for us. Maybe someone knows a master between Kostroma, Ivanovo and Moscow who can fix it?”
“I wanted to take Blitz, but loading from above doesn’t suit me, I wish I could come up with something for the output, otherwise we then take out so much fluff with a vacuum cleaner, we have to remove the entire right wall and clean the fans, by the way, they don’t last for a long time precisely because of the presence of fluff in them from the output, and in its price range it is a very decent thing. »
“We purchased a Blitz-72 incubator. Of the declared 72 eggs, 71 were able to be located; the weight of the eggs ranged from 55-67 grams. A week after the ovoscopy, 63 pieces were left. Output for 20-21 days - 54 chicks. We experienced inconvenience after turning off the rotation, because... When laying the eggs on their sides, some had to be laid in a second tier and when hatching, the incubator had to be opened frequently, because There is no hatching incubator. We tried to follow your recommendations. But after reading various literature on incubation, the question arises: why is it necessary to maintain a temperature of 38.0 degrees in Blitz incubators throughout the entire process? Explain what dictates this condition.”
A rural resident of the Stavropol Territory, Grachevsky District, is contacting you. By profession, I am a mechanic technician and before purchasing an incubator, I spent a long time considering all the incubator options provided. My choice settled on your model, taking into account the technical parameters and prices. During operation during 2014 (April - June) I received the following results: - Hatch from a hatching egg - 95% - Hatch from a domestic egg - 65% The only thing I would suggest to improve is adding water, as suggested on the Poseda - 33”, but I’m happy with the choice and the reliability of the domestic manufacturer!!! Along with the incubator I received an egg laying calendar; I would like to subscribe to receive such a calendar for future years.

Blitz incubators have been delighting consumers on the Russian market for several years. One of the few domestic incubators that makes inexpensive and good models for private farmers. As always, there are a lot of debates, advice, and disputes on the forums regarding the design and technical nuances, but one thing is obvious - hundreds of people use them and have excellent poultry results! What else does a farmer and villager need to be happy?! Here's real import substitution for you!
“For me, it’s a normal incubator, although there’s nothing to compare it with, and so far I’ve only hatched one egg. There are some shortcomings, but the main thing is that it works for a long time, let’s hope :)”
“This is our second Blitz and everything is fine. The first one was given to my aunt because she wouldn’t buy it herself, so they gave her one for 48 eggs, and we already got a new one for 120 eggs. Hatches very well (it took two hatches). In other respects, just like the old one. Sturdy, made of plywood. We are satisfied. The chicks squeak and peck and we are happy. And 120 eggs is already a serious volume, we feel like big farmers))"
“Whoever is lucky here :)) My Blitz 48 has already made 10 conclusions normally, but my neighbor (who bought it on my recommendation) had small mistakes, but not fatal.”
“Last season Blitz worked fine for me and I hope it will continue to do so, but now I’ve also bought a Chinese incubator for 48 eggs and I’m doubly happy.”
“Again I’m with my temperature jumping. In general, they connected it to the battery and brought it into the room (it used to be in the hallway) and oh happiness!!!! The incubator keeps the temperature even!”
“I won’t name the brand, because... We're talking about the Blitz here. In short, Blitz works well, but some other domestic crooks make such crap that they can’t do it without modifications. Moreover, significant ones. It’s just that Blitz hasn’t had a big model before – now I’m waiting for reviews about Norma and we’ll see. Blitz 48 serves so far faithfully and with a fairly good conclusion. There were minor problems, but they were resolved in a minute with a screwdriver in hand and that’s all. »

Incubator functionality:
Description of the Norma Lupper incubator controls:
The Norma Lupper incubator has all the electronics necessary for reliable and convenient operation of the incubator. The set temperature is maintained automatically in the range from 35 to 40 degrees with an accuracy of 0.1°C. The incubator is equipped with a sound alarm for temperature deviation from the set one. Humidity is provided by the evaporation of water from the baths and is set mechanically by a damper on the control panel. The accuracy of maintaining the set humidity is 3%. Please note that excess air exchange is maintained in the chamber even at the maximum set humidity.
You can connect a backup 12V power supply through special contacts on the control panel. When working on an external battery, you can see the approximate remaining battery charge as a percentage.
To make it easier to cool the eggs in the second half of incubation, it is possible to temporarily turn off the heating.
4. Norma Lupper incubator control panel
The manufacturer provides a 12-month warranty on the incubator.
For a complete description of the design, controls, safety precautions and operating instructions for the incubator, see the instructions for the Norma Lupper incubator. You will receive the instruction manual along with the incubator, and you can always download it here:

Let's look at the differences between two very popular incubator models among buyers: BLITZ Norma and NORM Lupper. These two models are really very similar! They have one manufacturer and one price segment. Both incubators have almost the same dimensions, two trays for maintaining humidity, a standard egg tray included and a transparent lid, which for convenience consists of two parts.
The first difference that we see in the incubator is the material from which the body is made. The BLITZ Norma body consists of expanded polystyrene. This is a particularly durable type of foam, which is covered on both sides with a special smooth film for reliability and ease of washing.
NORMALLY, the Lupper body consists of sandwich panels. In essence, this is standard foam plastic, which is located between two sheets of special plastic. Of course, the second option is more durable. Different materials of the hull walls did not affect their thickness in any way. The thickness of the walls in both incubators is 3 centimeters.
The control panel also looks the same. It has a lever with damper adjustment for changing humidity, indicators for heating, tray rotation and network operation. If for some reason the incubator stops working from the mains (for example, the power is turned off), you will see this on the control panel and the device will immediately automatically switch to battery operation.
The second difference between these two models is related to the battery The BLITZ Norma does not have a battery charge indicator. In other words, in the event of a long power outage or if the incubator is constantly running on battery power, you will not be able to find out how much charge is left in the external battery and how long it will take to charge it. With NORM Lupper, the battery charge level is displayed as a percentage on the external display.
The eggs in both incubators are turned automatically every 2 hours. If necessary, you can disable or change the automatic egg turning and heater functions, as well as change the heating temperature in the incubator.
BLITZ Norma and NORMAL Lupper have thermometers . Agree, this is a very important part in the incubator! The temperature accuracy in both incubators is 0.1°C.
Another difference is the weight of the incubators. As mentioned above, incubator bodies consist of various materials and the sandwich panels of NORM Lupper are, of course, a little heavier (1.5 kg). This is not such an important technical feature, but if you order an incubator to another city, keep in mind that the cost of delivery of a heavier product will most likely cost you a little more.
The warranty period for incubators also differs. For BLITZ the norm is 12 months, for NORM Lupper it is 6 months. These differences are very difficult to explain logically, because according to statistics, both devices are reliable and durable.
User manual
Blitz Norma 72 is suitable for both experienced poultry farmers and novice owners. Regardless of your level of preparedness, before you start working with the incubator, you should read the instructions for its use.
Initially, a test run of the unit is carried out to check that all systems are functioning. At this time, it is better to use eggs from ordinary, non-pedigree birds. After checking the incubator, you can put material inside for breeding purebred individuals.
Preparing the incubator for work
Before the test run, the incubator is installed on a flat and hard surface. The next step is to set the humidity level on a special control panel. If eggs of waterfowl birds are placed inside the incubator, this figure should be about 60%, for land birds - about 40-45%. The humidity level changes before biting. The indicators increase to 85% if the device contains eggs of waterfowl and up to 70% for land birds. Then you need to connect the battery.
Important! Before starting the unit, it is necessary to check the functionality of the battery. To do this, the unit is disconnected from the network (all systems must operate in the same way as before the disconnection). After a while, you can reconnect the machine to the network to check how the switchover mode from offline mode works.
At the bottom of the incubator near the walls there are two baths. Warm water is poured into them, the temperature of which is about 45°C. Containers should be filled halfway with water. The next item is installing a special tray for eggs. To install it, do as it is written in the instructions: on one side, the tray is lowered onto the support pin until it stops, on the other, the tray should rest against the shaft of the gear motor.
Then close the unit cover and connect the power. Through the transparent cover it is necessary to observe the operation of the ventilation system and the automatic rotation device for filling material. For the ideal rotation angle and its deviations, see above. Now you need to pay attention to the control panel and, using small levers, set the temperature necessary for the normal development of bird embryos.
Did you know? The ideal temperature for incubation is 37.8°C. According to the manufacturer, the error in temperature measurement in Blitz Norma is only 0.1°C.
40 minutes after turning on the temperature mode, you should check how well the unit has warmed up. During this time, the temperature should become stable. For further measurements you will need a gyrometer. The incubator is left for 2.5 hours, and after the specified time the humidity level inside the chamber is checked.

Laying eggs
It is necessary to connect the incubator to the power system, warm up the internal chamber to a temperature of 37.8°C, turn it off and only then place the material inside the chamber. The humidity level in the incubator is set according to the type of bird whose eggs are placed on the grill (for humidity levels, see the section on preparing the incubator for operation). Before placing eggs into the unit, they must be carefully checked using an ovoscope.
This device will help to recognize fertilized eggs, and will also show the presence of deformation or other flaws, if any. Before being placed in the incubator, the seeding material can be stored for about ten days (at a temperature of +10 to +15°C). By the time the material is placed in the lattice, it is necessary to allow the eggs to warm up to +25°C naturally. No additional procedures (such as washing) are required to place the eggs of any bird in the incubator. On the contrary, it is advisable to leave the shell as is.
When you are convinced of the quality of the eggs, they are placed on the wire rack so that the sharp side of the egg is at the bottom. Then the baths placed inside the device are completely filled with water, the temperature of which is about 43-45°C. The Blitz Norma 72 comes with a special hose with which you can add water without opening the lid - just move it slightly to the side.
Important! All eggs should be tightly secured in the wire rack. This precaution is necessary so that they do not fall out and become damaged when the grille rotates automatically. If necessary, you can use a limiter or ordinary cardboard. It is advisable to place eggs in a tray when the tray itself is already inclined.
When you are sure that all the material is intact and placed correctly in the grill, you can close the lid and connect the unit to the network. Be sure to check the connection of the heater and automatic rotation.
Incubation mode
The incubation period lasts exactly three weeks. All this time it is necessary to carry out an observation algorithm for the filling material.
Did you know? A cracking sound is heard from the egg when the chick breaks through the shell with the so-called egg tooth. This is the name of a special growth on the chick’s beak, with the help of which it breaks cracks in the shell. After it is born, the egg tooth falls off.
The stability of the temperature inside the incubator is checked every day. Ventilate the chamber twice a day by opening the lid for 15 minutes. Every three days it is necessary to check all working mechanisms and add water to the baths. Periodically monitor the operation of the automatic rotation device for filling material - it should operate every two hours

We recommend reading: The main reasons for the lack of berries
. It is also necessary to promptly cool the eggs and ovoscope them (according to the information provided in the instructions). When two days remain until the end of the incubation period (that is, on the 19th day that the eggs are inside the unit), you need to turn off the automatic rotation function, and the required amount of water is added to the baths.
To check whether the chick is ready to be born, it is recommended to use an ovoscope. An air cushion should appear at the top of the egg, at its wide end. You can also listen to the sounds that come through the shell: chicks, ready to hatch, squeak and make a characteristic quiet crackling noise.
Chicks hatching
If you follow all instructions and carefully check the nesting material before incubation, the chicks will be born within 24 hours. To get out of the shell, the chicks peck at the middle part of the egg, after which they rest their paws on the improvised floor and their heads on the upper part of it to break the shell in half. Once released from the shell, the chick dries out and rests inside the incubator. During rest, the tourniquet that connected the chick to the egg should dry out and fall off.
To summarize, we can conclude that the incubator called “Blitz Norma 72” is ready for use on both large farms and small farms. It is easy to operate, has all the necessary functions, and differs from other domestic analogues in the accuracy of temperature measurement. The device is inexpensive. One of the main disadvantages of the unit is the noise level - the incubator is about 20% louder than other machines from the same manufacturer.
Did you know? During 21 days of development inside the egg, the chick, being an embryo, receives air through micropores in the egg shell (this is about 6 liters of oxygen), and releases about 4.5 liters of carbon dioxide. The embryo feeds on yolk.
In order for the chicks to develop well and the brood of birds to reach 90%, it is necessary to follow the instructions and carefully monitor temperature and humidity indicators, add water in time and check the operation of the rotating device.
